Consign Equipment
Ameristart sells respiratory equipment on consignment for clinics, DME suppliers, resellers, and retiring practices. Ameristart does not purchase equipment; the consignor retains title until a unit sells and receives 70% of the margin. Inspection, listing, storage, and the return of unsold units carry no charge — the consignor's only cost is inbound shipment to the Somerset, New Jersey warehouse.
How it works
Submit
The consignor submits the form below, or emails a unit list, with make, model, quantity, condition, and the amount it would like to realize per unit. Ameristart responds within one business day with shipping instructions or follow-up questions.
Ship
Equipment ships to the Somerset, New Jersey intake warehouse on the consignor's own account, powered down, with accessories bagged and labeled and a packing slip enclosed. Ameristart confirms receipt by email within two business days, listing each unit by model and serial number.
Inspect
Within five business days of receipt, Ameristart inspects and diagnoses each unit at no charge. Title remains with the consignor; units are stored separately and labeled with the consignor's name.
Offer Sheet
Ameristart returns an Offer Sheet with two figures for each unit: the price at which the unit is expected to sell, and the consignor's payout at that price. The consignor accepts, negotiates, or requests the unit's return. No unit is listed or repaired until the Offer Sheet is approved.
List
Approved units are listed on this site at the approved price. That price is the floor; it steps down on the pre-approved schedule of 92.5% from day 30, 85% from day 60, and 75% from day 90. Ameristart does not sell below the day-90 price without the consignor's written approval.
Sell
When a unit sells, it is repaired as needed, tested, and shipped to the buyer with a 90-day warranty. The service cost — repair, parts, testing, and shipment to the buyer — is deducted from the sale price; the remainder is the margin.
Pay
The consignor receives 70% of the margin within 15 days after the buyer's funds clear, with a statement showing the sale price, the service cost, and the payout. Units unsold at 120 days are returned at Ameristart's expense or extended 60 days, at the consignor's election.

Consignment Terms and Conditions
These terms govern all equipment shipped to Ameristart's warehouse under the consignment program. Ameristart does not purchase equipment. Ameristart sells consigned equipment on the consignor's behalf and remits payment when a unit sells. Shipment of equipment to Ameristart constitutes acceptance of these terms.
Title
- 1.Title to each unit remains with the consignor until the unit is sold to a buyer. Ameristart and its repair partner hold consigned equipment as the consignor's property, stored separately and labeled with the consignor's name.
- 2.Ameristart will not lend, operate, disassemble for parts, or encumber consigned equipment.
Receipt and inspection
- 3.Within two business days of arrival, Ameristart confirms receipt by email, listing each unit received by model and serial number.
- 4.Within five business days of receipt, Ameristart inspects and diagnoses each unit at no charge. When shipping, the consignor states the amount it would like to realize per unit. Following inspection, Ameristart returns an Offer Sheet with two figures for each unit: the price at which Ameristart expects the unit to sell, and the consignor's payout at that price.
- 5.No unit is listed or repaired until the consignor approves the Offer Sheet. The consignor may accept the proposed price, negotiate it with Ameristart, or request the unit's return.
Payment
- 6.The consignor's payout is derived solely from the sale of the unit. Ameristart does not pay a fixed price for any unit. When a unit sells, the service cost is deducted from the sale price; the remainder is the margin. The consignor receives 70% of the margin and Ameristart retains 30%. Repairs are performed only after a unit has sold and are paid from the sale proceeds. No amount is owed to the consignor until the buyer's payment has been received. Service cost means the repair, parts, testing, and shipment to the buyer.
Illustration: a consignor ships a ventilator and indicates it would like to realize approximately $2,000. Inspection shows the unit requires $600 of service. Ameristart advises that the unit can be sold for $3,500, producing a consignor payout of $2,030 (70% of the $2,900 margin: $3,500 sale price less $600 service cost). Ameristart's share is $870. Both amounts are paid from the same $3,500 sale, and neither is paid until the buyer's funds have cleared.
- 7.The price approved on the Offer Sheet is the floor. To avoid delays, the consignor pre-approves the following price schedule at signing: 100% of the floor at listing, 92.5% from day 30, 85% from day 60, and 75% from day 90. Ameristart will not sell below the day-90 price without the consignor's written approval. The consignor's 70% is calculated on the actual sale price.
- 8.Payment is issued within 15 days after the buyer's funds clear, accompanied by a statement showing the sale price, the service cost, and the consignor's payout.
Unsold equipment
- 9.If a unit remains unsold at the end of the agreed listing period (120 days from receipt unless otherwise agreed on the Offer Sheet), the consignor elects one of the following: return of the unit, shipped at Ameristart's expense, or a 60-day extension at the day-90 price. If no election is made within 15 days, the listing is extended.
- 10.The consignor may request the return of any unsold unit at any time on 10 days' notice. Units that have been sold or are in repair are completed before return.
- 11.Ameristart charges no storage fee and no inspection fee. Any unit that does not sell within the agreed listing period is returned at Ameristart's expense if the consignor wants it back. The consignor's only cost under this program is inbound shipment to Ameristart.
Inbound shipment
- 12.Inbound freight is the consignor's responsibility. Equipment is shipped to the address below on the consignor's own account. Ameristart does not issue prepaid shipping labels.
- 13.Each unit is to be powered down and packed with accessories bagged and labeled. A packing slip must be enclosed listing the consignor's company name, contact name, email address, telephone number, and the units shipped. Shipments received without a packing slip are held until the sender can be identified.
- 14.The consignor removes all patient data before shipment, including SD cards, modem or cloud pairings, and stored patient settings. Ameristart performs a second data wipe at intake and records that it was completed.
- 15.Ameristart does not insure consigned equipment in transit or in its warehouse. Consignors who require coverage should maintain it under their own policy and may add declared value with their carrier.
Accepted equipment
- 16.Ameristart accepts ventilators (Trilogy EVO, Astral 100 and 150, VOCSN, LTV, Vivo, Luisa), portable oxygen concentrators, and BiPAP and high-flow units, in working or non-working condition. CPAP devices and 5-liter stationary concentrators are not accepted under this program. Consignors should confirm with Ameristart before shipping any equipment not listed here.
- 17.Units subject to an open FDA recall are sold only after the required service has been completed and documented. That service is included in the service cost shown on the Offer Sheet.
- 18.Any unit Ameristart declines to list following inspection is returned to the consignor at the consignor's expense or, at the consignor's direction, recycled. No inspection fee applies in either case.
