Condition Standard
The term "refurbished" has no standardized definition in the secondary equipment market. Ameristart lists every unit in one of the two conditions below. The condition is assigned by the person who inspected the unit and appears on the listing, in the quote, and in writing.
The two conditions
- New in Box
- Sealed in the original packaging, unused. Sold as received from the manufacturer or distributor; manufacturer warranty applies where offered.
- Patient Ready
- Cleaned, function-tested, and inspected before listing. Preventive maintenance completed where stated. Units within an open FDA recall or field safety notice are sold only with the required service completed and documented. Missing accessories, hours, and cosmetic condition are stated on the listing. 90-day Ameristart warranty where stated.
Applies to every unit
- Serial number checked against open FDA recalls and manufacturer field safety notices before listing.
- Function testing on every Patient Ready unit.
- Photographs of the actual unit — no manufacturer stock images.
- Condition notes written at inspection.
Consigned equipment is inspected, listed, and sold under the same standard.
